                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 6958, AS
                   AMENDED, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE, SO AS
                   TO REZONE A TRACT OF LAND LOCATED AT 5505
                   BRAINERD ROAD, BEING OFF THE NORTHEAST AND
                   NORTHWEST LINE OF BRAINERD ROAD AT PISGAH
                   AVENUE, FROM R-2 RESIDENTIAL ZONE TO C-1
                   HIGHWAY COMMERCIAL ZONE, SUBJECT TO CERTAIN
                   CONDITIONS.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That Ordinance No. 6958, as
         amended, known as the Zoning Ordinance, be and the same is 
hereby
         amended so as to rezone:
               
                A tract of land located at 5505 Brainerd Road,
                being off the northeast and northwest line of
                Brainerd Road at Pisgah Avenue.  Part of lot 2,
                Sunbest Properties Subdivision, as shown by plat of
                record in plat book 40, page 112, ROHC; being part
                of the property described in deed book 3750, page
                430, ROHC, and being all the remaining part of said
                lot 2 which is not currently zoned C-1.  Tax Map
                No. 157K-S-19 (part).
               
         from R-2 Residential Zone to C-1 Highway Commercial Zone.

              	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this rezoning 

         shall be subject to the following conditions:
        
              1.   Maintaining sight-obscuring screen along abutting
                   residential zones. 
        
              2.   All existing easements are retained.
        
        
              	   SECTION 3.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this 
Ordinance
         shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage, as
         required by law.
